This is the Toynami rendition of Roy Fokker's famous VF-1S. There have been other incarnations of the Robotech Valkyries, which I need not say, were from the Macross toys by Takatouku, then later on by Bandai. This series by Toynami has the honor of being the first to feature transforming Valkyries for the American market. There were transforming Macross Valkyries, but not Robotech Valkyries.
This is in the same scale as the Takatouku/Bandai released Macross Valkyries, 1/55 scale. But it has sleeker proportions, than the chunky Valkyries initially released in the 80s, and will be re-released in the 90s, and in the new millenium.
This toys has been criticized for having "quality control" issues. But, you cannot deny that it looks very good. Besides, i never opened them, so, it's all good. Ignorance is bliss.
This toy is limited to 15,000 pcs in the world, which could account for its rarity. Among the Robotech Toynami 1/55 toys, Fokker's VF-1S is the hardest to find.
